bye bye spring break…
Well, spring break is coming to an end. Unlike the majority of my dumb classmates, I didn’t go to some tropical place and party myself stupid. I just stayed home all week and relaxed. I was severely burnt out from school to the point where I actually missed home. It’s kind of funny that this semester I’ve tried to avoid home, and ended up missing it. I guess it’s better than being there too much and hating it. It was also really nice to see my best friends from high school.
Thursday was particularly noteworthy. Our ex-bosses invited Veronica, Jen, and myself to dinner downtown, so we decided to make a day of it. The only person we were missing was Christin - her spring break was last week. ):
We went to the Aquarium becuase V hasn’t ever been there before. It was fun.. the seahorse exhibit was sweet. Otherwise it’s pretty much the same as I remembered. Except they don’t have the petting pool! What the hell?! That was the coolest thing ever.. you know, where you could pick up starfish and horseshoe crabs. Damn the man!
Anyway.. afterwards we walked around harborplace for a bit, then to Fells Point. We went to the Soundgarden (so I could eye up CDs to start replacing my lost collection) and then made our way back. We met J and Maria (our bosses) at McCormick & Shmick, and then possibly had the best dinner I’ve ever had. I can’t even stress how good everything was. We got fried calamari (perfect consistency, not chewy whatsoever), crab wontons, and crab & artichoke dip for appetizers. For my meal I got shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat, sitting in imperial sauce. Dessert was equally as fabulous. We got 3 different things and shared. We got a sundae, an apple pie type thing a la mode, and the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious, however quite pricey. Lucky for us, J was treating us all. (:
It was such a fun evening. We all shared our college stories, and laughed the whole time. Maria has the funniest stories. In order to get one of her messy roommates back, she sewed all of her dirty clothes that were laying all over the room together. When the girl came home and tried to put her pjs on, she found that they were sewn to the ladder of her bunk bed. I can’t believe she actually did that! Ah, good times..
