tour photos
I uploaded the pictures that I took on our June tour. Some of the shows were awesome, and some weren’t that great, but overall it was a good tour. The sucky shows were made up by the awesome vacation days we had at the beach and Ms. Nanci & Tudy’s house. The beach pictures are from my favorite day of the tour. One of the staff members at The Cellblock in Mobile, AL let us stay at his condo which just happened to be on an island with a pool and a beach. We couldn’t believe it! Sadly we didn’t get to hang out with Dave (the guy) at all becuase he had to work late and ended up staying with a friend that night. However, we did take walk to the beach and went swimming in the pool with his roommate Tammy. It was a nice, relaxing night, and then an awesome day following it. I went to the beach by myself around 11 while Katie took a bike ride on this really cool trail that went throughout the island. I love the beach and wanted to spend as much time as I could because I only get the opportunity like once a year. I don’t really have a chance to ever go on a real vacation because when I’m not in school, the band usually wants to tour.Anyway, so I love the beach and plopped myself on a big beach towel in the sand. It was so relaxing and nice - there were maybe 20 people max on this huge stretch of beach… nothing like the madness of Ocean City or Myrtle Beach. I spent the morning soaking up the sun, swimming in the gulf, taking pictures and I even sketched in my sketchbook which I haven’t done since I took an art class last semester. I thought it was kind of neat how you could see the oil rigs in the distance, and I was so excited to find a real hermit crab! The family nearby was laughing at me becuase I was all sprawled out on the ground taking pictures and video of this little crab. So I went inside an hour or 2 later and ate some lunch. Katie got home then too, so after eating we went back out to the beach… the boys were just waking up at this point! We decided to explore the beach a little. On the way we came across a family and the baby pool full of starfish and sand dollars. Me and Katie freaked out and that family thought we were hilarious too. I’ve never seen a starfish or sanddollar outside of the aquarium. One of my favorite memories is holding a starfish at the aquarium when they used to have the “petting pool” - they have fascinated me ever since. The family pointed us to a shallow part of the beach where their kids were playing to show us how to find the little sea creatures. The kids were really cute and gave us starfish and sand dollars that they found then told us to dig in sand for them. We basically spent the rest of the day playing like/with kids in the water. It was so much fun!
