diving into spinning pt. 3
Since I will have to give the drop spindle back in about two weeks I decided to get my butt in gear and try to get through the rest of the roving I’m using. As per the drop spindle’s super awesome owner’s suggestion, I have started spinning the fiber thinner. I was having trouble drafting (pulling the fibers apart) fast enough before the spindle stopped spinning and the twist started unwinding. The thinner ply works better with the weight of this particular spindle, so it spins longer and I’m making good progress. Here’s a picture of my initial thicker ply versus the new and improved thinner ply.
